Clarify: 6-industry RMA process-mapping + cross-industry comparison
Task: Instantiate the rma-reverse-logistics-analysis-framework for six new interviews (Navy/Eli, Dell/Skip+Faiyaz, Chevron/Thomas, Nikon/Nathan, airline/Roberto, medical/Brooks), each with a bullet summary + explicit unknowns, then a cross-industry comparison across all eight (incl. NVIDIA baseline, NICE) to find rhyming patterns for a single multi-industry product.
Questions asked:
- Classification of new maps + final doc (drives whether /send-pdf is allowed)? → Include all
confidential info; audience is NDA-covered eyes only. So deliverable is
confidential: nda, lives in the NDA silo, may include NVIDIA’s confidential figures in the baseline. - File structure + what gets sent as PDF? → One combined document, sent whole.
- Map depth given uneven sources? → Full fidelity to the template; use the NVIDIA instance (not NICE) as the model. Clearly label everything unknown.
Decision: Build ONE self-contained confidential: nda document in memory/customer/nvidia/
containing all six full-template instances (Layer A + Layer C S1–S16, unknowns labeled) plus a
Layer-E-style cross-industry comparison, modeled on the NVIDIA instance’s depth. Send as a single
PDF to an NDA-appropriate channel (confirm target at send time).
Outcome: Built memory/customer/nvidia/rma-cross-industry-process-maps-2026-07-24.md (nda,
2285 lines): six full-template instances (Dell, Nikon, aviation, medical, Chevron, Navy) modeled on the
NVIDIA baseline’s depth, unknowns labeled; plus an 8-way cross-industry comparison (Layer A grid,
shared-bottleneck matrix, condensed Layer E, 4-cluster analysis, repeated motions, a required
“where the pattern breaks” disconfirming section, roll-forward BN table, and single-product hypotheses
ending on open questions). Pressure-tested the plan (2 passes) and the output (2 passes). Sending as one
PDF to the founders’ NDA-appropriate channel.
Key findings: BN-1/BN-4/BN-7 (connective-tissue wound) universal 8/8; loop-shape recurs everywhere
(even the warranty-free Navy); clusters = compute (NVIDIA+Dell) / in-house capital-equipment (Nikon+NICE)
/ telemetry-regulated-cross-entity (aviation+medical) / movement-bound (Navy, Chevron adjacent). Strongest
counter-thesis: Roberto’s integration-fragmentation (“death by a thousand integrations”).
