- Competitors abound in all of the individual steps of the vision (less so in insurance/financial derivatives on top of semiconductors) but our unique value prop is progressing through all three of them in a self-reinforcing manner.
- Shrinking time to progress from price reporting to benchmark to derivatives. Platt over decades, BMI over 5-10 years, us shorter? I think big data, HPC + AI will shorten this path.
- Lots of similar yet slightly different regulations mentioned in the report. Will be important to build a platform that generalizes across these with diminishing cost per regulation supported (whiteboard curve from Friday).
Suggested path forward:
Feel like we have a solid understanding of our current vision (which will be tested Hardcore dive on competitive analysis) and now need to do the external legwork to position us for RDI sprint in April.
- Bliss to scrape for as much publicly accessible data about product/engineering landscape of comps, focusing on the compliance space. Startups like Altana, Interos and incumbents like SAP alike.
- Self-service offering or FDE support required to deploy?
- Where are the engineers coming from? Palantir, etc. connection?
- How do the firms acquire their data?
- How do the firms price their products/services? Usage based? Hourly billing for deployment support? Tiers of different features enabled?
- Do the firms in compliance sell to government for verification/investigation workflows, or to commercial entities looking to prepare for government sales + compliance burdens involved?
- Dustin to poke into financials/strategy of the comps:
- Which of these companies are growing the fastest? Which vertical (compliance, supply chain intelligence, etc.)
- Who are the primary investors in some of the growth-stage firms? Which VCs can we identify as particularly interested in this space.
- For the firms operating in multiple areas we’re interested in, how do the revenue streams compare across these verticals?
- How long has it taken to scale these firms and with how much investment?
- And other good targeted questions like this you can think of.

Make list of potential customers (semiconductor + other critical manufacturers selling to government) + RP at each
